It All Started in a Lecture.

During a mechatronics lecture, my professor made an off-hand comment: he wished someone would make a t-shirt with a rotary encoder wheel on it.

As a student, I was tired of generic 'nerd' shirts that just scratched the surface. Where was the apparel for the people who actually build, test, and truly know these components? Where was the shirt that was as smart as the circuit it was showing?

I couldn't find it. So I decided to make it.

This isn't just a picture of a chip. It's a wearable schematic.

Each design is meticulously researched and drafted—from clean isometric line-art to the exact pinouts and the key data that matters. We believe the details are the whole point.

Founded by an Engineer

My name is Austin, and I'm the founder of Trace Wear. As a mechatronics engineering student at my local community college, I'm surrounded by these components every day.

This brand is a direct extension of my passion. I personally research and help design every product to ensure it's something I and my classmates would be genuinely excited to wear. This is apparel for engineers, by an engineer.

Our Philosophy: A Great Design Deserves a Great Shirt.

We have a simple rule: a shirt with a good design that doesn't fit well or feel good is a failed design.

That's why we’re obsessed with quality. We only print on ultra-soft, premium-blend tees—like our sueded 60/40 CVC—that are durable, comfortable, and have a modern fit. The result is a shirt that feels as good as it looks, wash after wash.
